So, Tristan (@TheElitists) was kind enough to give me his spare beta key for Starcraft II.
Holy. Brood Queen.
Confession: I didn’t play original Starcraft (…may have to rectify that this weekend, however). In fact, I thought I hated RTS (because I am, quite frankly, absolutely terrible at strategy).
Starcraft? SUCH A BLAST. Yes, I suck. I’m terrible at RTS. No, really, I’m as bad as you think I am (probably worse). I hate playing Terran. I like Protoss (they’re pretty!), and I think Zerg is really interesting. (Even if it is gross and bugs and squelching noises that make me flinch.)
The game is visually stunning, even with settings on minimum. (Yes, my graphics stuff is turned basically all the way down.) The changes to the battle.net system are really exciting–I can’t wait for it to be implemented in WoW. In fact, I’d love to see it implemented in WoW shortly after Starcraft II officially launches in late July.
CAN’T TALK, CONSTRUCTING ADDITIONAL PYLONS. ♥

So I take it we will not see you, nor will the sun or anyone else, come release date?
I’m fully invested in begging my wife to allow me to build a new gaming machine in time for the Starcraft II launch. That’s my goal/deadline

Unfortunately, summer is the busiest time of the year in my line of work, so I won’t be able to cut out a few days just to immerse myself in SC2.
I’m actually still undecided as to whether I’ll actually buy the game–Signs right now point to yes, but between raiding bullshit and such, it could just be that I’m a little burned out on WoW and SC2 is an amusing distraction. Ask me again in two weeks.
(Now, if I happen to swing a Cata beta… expect me to disappear!)
